A new sanctuary has opened on the south-west coast of Crete, and Ariadne Athens is at its centre. A Philosophy, Not a Menu
The Revery introduces 24 safari-inspired tented pavilions and clifftop suites to one of Crete's most striking coastlines. At its heart, the 300-square-metre ROÉE Spa takes its name from the Greek word ροή (roí) — flow — the natural movement of breath, energy and time.

Built From the Ground Up
ROÉE's wellness programme is a joint creation, developed with Spa Concept Greece and shaped by Ariadne Athens. The result rejects the conventional spa menu entirely in favor of sensorial journeys built around touch, breath and warmth.
That philosophy is expressed through:
- Cretan ingredients sourced at origin — wild botanicals, native oils, sea salt
- Greek therapeutic tradition, carried forward rather than diluted
- An intimate spa environment, structured around heat and water therapy in place of a high-volume treatment list
Four treatment rooms with LEUS spa beds, a sea-view sauna by KLAFS, a steam room by Harvia, custom hot and cold plunge baths and exfoliating salt showers give this philosophy its physical form.
A Setting That Matches the Intent
The Revery's architecture holds the same restraint that defines Ariadne Athens. Local architect Eirini Apostolaki of Archtify built the property on a low-impact philosophy — solar energy, natural ventilation, stonework drawn from the site — while Athens-based designer Sophia Vantaraki of ThingK shaped interiors around a modern reading of Cretan minimalism.
Yannis Lampidakis, owner of The Revery, put it plainly:
"ROÉE's philosophy draws on Cretan rituals, therapeutic traditions and native botanicals, expressed through treatments that combine touch, breath and warmth. Our intimate spa is designed as a quiet sanctuary, combining restorative treatments with heat and water therapies."
